Monster Island, the Asylum’s mockbuster for 2019, was released just in time with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film is about an island with a mysterious creature that lives on it.


To keep costs low, the film only follows a few human characters. All A-listers are on one set so they can shoot all their sequences while having lunch. The Asylum might not be as successful because it's a kaiju movie.
